The hopes and dreams of the colonized and brutalized small countries of the world have been threaten by the emerging conflict and confusion about self-determination. (1)
The will of the people and the level of harm felled upon a group was beginning to take a back seat to issues of ethic majority as a precursor of assessing claims.
This will not end well.
It might be more appropriate to use history and the populations prior to colonization or occupation rather than the aftermath of suppression and even genocide or dare we say trade as the guide for who gets a country.
